If there’s one article you ought to read right now, please check out this short one: Depression and the Ministry, Part 5: Facing Depression with Christ.

A fantastic article posted by one of my Facebook friends. There are so many good points to remember:
“What cannot be cured can be endured.”
“But this happened so that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead” (2 Cor. 1:9b).
This last point really rings clear:
“When finding God is more important than finding relief.” I can so relate. When you’re sad in any way, not just depression, realize that the answer is not to pursue passing pleasures, but to go to Christ. It sounds contradictory at first, especially when you may find reading the Bible boring or long, but when you decide to try it, you’ll realize the joy that comes in just deciding to be with God than with the world. I’ve been so blessed doing this, and it has really brightened my soul. Just talking about it makes me feel blessed again. O thank You, Lord.
